Fee and rate figures are editable sample defaults — always check the provider's live rate before sending. Total cost % = fee + exchange-rate markup combined, relative to the mid-market rate. Works for any currency pair in the world.

The true cost of sending money

Every transfer has two costs: the visible fee and the hidden exchange-rate markup — the gap between the provider's rate and the real mid-market rate. A "zero fee" transfer with a bad rate can cost more than a small fee with a great rate. This tool adds both together so you compare honestly.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest way to send money to Pakistan?

It changes with the amount and the day's rates. Generally, digital services like Wise beat banks and cash agents on exchange rate, while banks can be cheaper for very large transfers. Enter your amount above and compare live — fees and rates are editable.

Why do I get less than the Google exchange rate?

Google shows the mid-market rate — the rate banks use between themselves. Transfer providers add a margin (markup) on top of it, plus a transfer fee. This tool shows the total cost: fee + rate markup combined.

Is it better to send a large amount at once?

Often yes: fixed fees are spread over a larger amount, so the cost per unit drops. But some providers have better rates for small amounts. Compare both scenarios with this tool before deciding.

Is this remittance comparison free?

Yes. It is 100% free with no signup required.

What is an exchange rate margin?

The exchange rate margin is the gap between the mid-market rate (the “Google rate”) and the rate a provider actually gives you, expressed as a percentage. A 2% margin on a SAR 5,000 transfer costs you SAR 100 — often far more than the advertised fee. It is the biggest hidden cost in most remittances.

Are zero-fee transfers always cheaper?

No. A provider can charge no upfront fee and still take its cut through a worse exchange rate. A “zero fee” offer at a 3% margin is more expensive than a SAR 15 fee at a 1% margin on larger amounts. Always compare the final amount your recipient receives.

How long do transfers from Saudi Arabia usually take?

Minutes to a few hours for mobile-wallet and cash-pickup transfers on major corridors like SAR→PKR and SAR→INR; one to two business days for bank-account deposits. First-time transfers can take longer because of identity verification.
